PRE-EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXIS (PREP) STUDY 

Manthan Foundation has supported National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Central Government to reach Transgender Population for creating awareness about PrEP and get them enrolled in the study. The project reached 110 transgenders; 26 of them have enrolled in the study successfully.

PROJECT ACCELERATE IN COLLABORATION WITH YRG CARE 

150 MSMs (Men having sex with Men) and Transgenders from Khed block of Pune were mobilized and enrolled for the project ‘Accelerate’, a pilot initiative to establish a pick-up point for HIV self-testing and PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxis). 

PROJECT ‘LINKAGES’ IN COLLABORATION WITH FHI 360 

Supported Humsafar Trust and Aastha Parivar to reach 525 FSWs, MSMs, and Men having sex with Men (MSM), and Transgenders in the rural and urban areas of the Pune district.  

ORPHAN AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC) PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH YRG CARE 

Awareness sessions on health and life were conducted and 150+ HIV-positive children and their caregivers have been supported with dry groceries and nutritious food. 

WORKING ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILDREN IN COLLABORATION WITH ACTION FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD 

Manthan Foundation has persistently advocated for child rights and child education through numerous against child labor, child sexual exploitation, and child beggary.

CONDUCTED SOLO CYCLE EXPEDITION FOR ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH AWARENESS IN COLLABORATION WITH PARBHANI MATHRUBHUMI 

• Organized a 13-day HIV/AIDS rally with the theme ‘KNOW YOUR STATUS’ on the occasion of World AIDS day in 10 districts of Maharashtra in 2018 – Pune, Solapur, Latur, Buldhana, Beed, Nanded, Hingoli, Akola, Washim, and Parbhani, under the supervision of cyclist Mr. Niranjan Welankar; 25000 people were made aware about HIV/ AIDS. 

• Organized a 26 days rally to create awareness on health and the environment in 2019 from Shimla-Kaza-Tso Moriri-Leh (1200 km); 15000 people were made aware and meetings with key stakeholders such as NGOs, CBOs, and Governments authorities participated along the way.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC RELIEF ACTIVITY

 Distributed 30000 grocery kits to migrant workers and other marginalized people in collaboration with the Maha-NGO federation, SANY Heavy Industry India Pvt. Ltd., Loreal India Pvt. Ltd., and ITC Limited.

• Provided support to 45000 migrants to relocate to their native towns/villages in coordination with the Pune district collector and governor of Maharashtra to further provided
• Organized regular Health Camps, Yoga Camps and arranged for Kadha Distribution.
• Organized awareness session about Covid 19, Setu App, Covid testing, and care.
• Supported the district authorities in taking decisions on the distribution of Remdesivir and setting up systems in rural areas.
• Mobilized 1500 FSWs and TGs and 2500 migrants and industrial workers for Covid 19 vaccination. 

NITI Aayog has recognized the work of the Manthan Foundation during the pandemic and published our story in their newsletter in May 2020.
